Carefully Map Your Re-Entry to the Outside World

Many ex-offenders have unrealistic expectations about their future after release from incarceration, and they fail to develop a realistic plan of action.

From the very day you enter prison to the day you leave, you should be planning your re-entry by addressing the major issues affecting your future success - goals, education, work skills, job search skills, communities, neighborhoods, employers, housing, credit, support groups, and networks.

Develop a vision of the person you want to be and then outline a step-by-step plan for achieving your goals.
